Nearing the end of their second week on Winchester Island, Arthur's garden is growing and producing abundant crops. It's good to know that the town's residents aren't going to go hungry. The young Winters couple has managing get their farm going while in the process of earning their degrees.
After today's classes they decided to visit one of the town's many taverns. That seems to be something that Winchester doesn't lack in spite of it's small size; the residents have plenty of places to get drunk. Arthur and Gwen could have gone to the somewhat wholesome "Grandma's Saloon" but for some unknown reason decided to unwind at "The Howling Shack", a place that caters to a rather...unusual crowd.

While at the Howling Shack, Gwen was very pleased to run into a friend of hers from Moonlight Falls, a red-haired lady named Loretta Flowers. She's a real witch.

You thought I meant that she's an awful person? No, not at all. She's a nice lady...and she's an actual witch. See?

Loretta might want to be careful on that broom. She just found out that's she pregnant and no one would appreciate it if she had a bout of morning sickness while flying around. At least she flies better than her husband Reginald. That wizard is good with spells but he can't handle a broom to save his life.
After a couple of hours at the Howling Shack the Winters headed home. They have midterm exams the following day and they both want to get some extra studying in. While they didn't mind the rain that was falling they were a little disappointed to see a green tint in the air. They're both very familiar with that green tint after seeing it in Moonlight Falls every time the moon was full.

The green tint means that troubles afoot. Back in Moonlight Falls there were always zombies shuffling around during the full moon. Arthur and Gwen hoped to get away from the zombies when they came to Winchester, but unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the case.

Before anyone can say that "only blondes are safe outdoors tonight", it appears that zombies aren't the only things roaming around during the full moon. Everyone is wondering how this hairy fellow was chosen to come to Winchester. It's known that the town council was looking for genetic diversity so the next generation can safely breed with each other, but this seems to be going over the top.

The Winters weren't pleased with these latest discoveries and discussed the zombie and werewolf presence over dinner within the safety and comfort of their home. Actually Arthur is more dismayed by the fact that not only are Loretta and Reginald Flowers expecting their first child, but their friends Kendall and Kathleen Woods (who were also chosen to come to Winchester) are now pregnant. Well, Kathleen is. Kendall's part in the process is done.

Arthur is now feeling that he and Gwen need to hurry up and make their own contribution to the town's population. To that Gwen gently replied, "It's not a race. Frankly I'm more concerned about the fact that werewolves were allowed to move here. I'm not really comfortable with the fact that our children could be going to school with werewolf offspring."
With a soft laugh, Arthur assured his wife, "Ah, don't worry about that. Any children we have will know that it's best to keep the werewolves beyond arm's length."
Oh, Arthur, you sweet, innocent...naturally good...naive fool. Oh well. At least for now you're not loosing any sleep at night. Enjoy it because it's not going to last.

On another note I finally got my households from my Moonlight Falls save. Fifteen minutes before supper time I set the game up to load it and by the time we were done eating and I had washed the dishes the save was ready. Now that I have my households out of there I'll need to figure out where I want to put them; either Appaloosa Plains or in their own copy of Winchester.

That looks scary, but the cats and dogs seem to love going through it.
Is there enough room in Winchester for extra houses? Does it have available 64x64 lots?

Yes, the creator did include some large empty lots. There are two 64 x 64 and I believe there are two 60 x 60 lots. Actually there are three 60 x 60 lots if you include the empty community lot that she added near the equestrian center. In fact I changed that one into a residential lot and placed Gloria's grandparents there.
I think I'm leaning toward placing my MF households into their own copy of Winchester. After taking a look at Appaloosa Plains, it just has too much of a modern feel and I don't feel like have to gut and remake sections of the town. I'd rather just place the households and let the Big Bad Wolf story play out, and Winchester can easily be used for a non-modern day setting.

Yeah, Apaloosa is modern. Although it has plenty of supernaturals. It would take a lot to change it. With Winchester, all you have to do is add some hitching/watering posts on the streets, if it doesn't already have them.

I was just looking at Cape Garner which was made by the same person who made Great Bear. Once again the scenery is beautiful but the roads and most of the buildings in town have a modern look.
Winchester is the first world I've played where I didn't really want to change anything other than adding some houses and the community college.

I ended up going with a fresh copy of Winchester for my MF households. I've never set up a new game as quickly as I did this one. All I had to do was place the families with their houses into the empty lots and set up the college. Granny Sarah is all ready to resume throwing herself at the Big Bad Wolf (who continues to get creeped out and run away).
